The problem of traffic accidents is always highlighted in the media just before a long festive break. Traffic police are alarmed at the rising numbers of traffic accidents.
Most of the traffic accidents occur because drives are reckless. They drive without sufficient rest or try to get to their destination in the quickest possible time. In these situations, drivers are risking their vehicles as well as the lives of other road users.
Other drivers cause accidents when they do not adhere to traffic rules. If drivers overtake in the proper manner and give way when they should,there would be fewer accidents. Sometimes the drivers are talking on a mobile phone,eating or smoking cigarettes while steering the vehicles with the other hand. the drivers will not be able to control their vehicles properly and accidents may occur.
Traffic accidents are rising because of the increasing number of road users. However ,if all drivers practise good driving habits and adhere to traffic rules,the number of accidents can be reduced.
